Clean Fleet Van Operator of the Year

This Award is for the operator of a fleet of 11 or more vans under 7.5 tonnes GVW that can demonstrate leadership in adopting low emissions vehicles including battery electric, hydrogen and hybrids. Operators using conventional internal combustion engines powered by biofuels are eligible to enter.

With over 3,200 electric vans put on the UK roads in 2019 (SMMT) operators are beginning to move from trials to operation of low emissions vehicles to both improve local air quality and cut carbon emissions.

Moving away from diesel to low emissions alternative fuels is still not cheap or easy, but will be essential if the UK is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This award recognises the pioneers who are the early adopters blazing a trail to a cleaner future.

Judges will want to see a real commitment to clean alternative fuelled vehicles not just green window dressing and a clear strategy to work with manufacturers to bring low emissions technology from prototype to mainstream.
