Clean Fleet Van Operator of the Year

This Award is for the operator of a fleet of 11 or more vans under 7.5 tonnes GVW that can demonstrate leadership in adopting low emissions vehicles including battery electric, hydrogen and hybrids. Operators using conventional internal combustion engines powered by biofuels are eligible to enter.

While Covid-19 has occupied everyone’s minds in 2020, the climate emergency has not gone away and as fleet renewal programmes start to recover, this is the opportunity to move away from business as usual and plan for a low carbon future.

With the government confirming a ban of sales of new petrol and diesel vans from 2030, far sighted van fleet operators are moving on from trials to real-world operation of low emissions vehicles that further improve local air quality and cut carbon emissions.

Making the transition from diesel to low emissions alternative fuels is still not cheap or easy, but will be essential if the UK is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This award recognises the pioneers who are the early adopters blazing a trail to a cleaner future.

This category is open to operators of 11 or more vans up to 7.5 tonnes GVW. To win the Clean Fleet Van Operator of the Year, you will need to show our judges that you are making real progress in moving from fossil fuels to low carbon alternatives such as battery electric, biofuels and hydrogen.
