Network of the Year

Network of the Year is open to any national transport or logistics operator with a network of DCs or depots, including but not limited to 3PLs, pallet networks, parcels carrier and own account operators. Ownership structure is immaterial; the network can be a wholly-owned, partnership, consortium, franchised or licensed operation - the only requirement is that the entrant together with any associated companies functions as an integrated network.

The award will be made to the network operator that can demonstrate excellent operational efficiency, above-average vehicle utilisation, high customer service levels, value for money and high levels of flexibility and responsiveness.

Judges will want to see:

  • A brief description of the operation including ownership structure
  • An overview of the markets served and products carried, with a breakdown of volumes and revenue earned over the last three years
  • The network’s strategy for future profitable growth and reinvestment in the business
  • Evidence of an efficient operation, including loadfill compared with industry averages and typical cost per delivery or tonne-kilometre
  • High levels of customer satisfaction, including statistics for on-time in-full delivery and a description of how technology is used in the operation to gain a competitive edge
  • A strong environmental policy showing how the network measures and minimises carbon emissions and is moving towards net zero emissions
  • Audited accounts for the last three years
